Hawaiian Delight

A delightful sandwich on bread that’s an excellent source of Fiber. Most American diets are low in fiber, however eating a diet high in fruits and vegetables, beans, and whole grains such as bread, will go a long way to helping you meet your fiber needs of 25 – 35 grams per day.

12 Whole Grains - Fiber for lifeIngredients:

  • 2 slices Aunt Millie’s Hearth 12 Whole Grains Bread
  • 2 tablespoons light, whipped cream cheese
  • 1 ounce Canadian bacon, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup mixed salad greens
  • 1 slice fresh pineapple

Yield: 1 sandwich

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, Canadian bacon, and pecans
  2. On one slice of bread, arrange salad greens and fresh pineapple slice
  3. Top with cream cheese mixture and second slice of bread
